Cigar Intel
Created as a tribute to the family legacy of Ernesto Perez-Carrillo, La Historia was the first blend launched under the E.P. Carrillo Series. The E-III, measuring 6 7/8 x 54, gives smokers a longer format to enjoy this award-winning blend.
Handmade in the Dominican Republic, the E-III features a dark Mexican San Andrés wrapper, an Ecuadorian Sumatra binder, and Nicaraguan filler tobaccos. The result is a rich, well-balanced profile that leans into cocoa, espresso, earth, and dark fruit tones with moments of leather, spice, and natural sweetness.
The E-III earned the No. 2 spot on Cigar Aficionado's Top 25 Cigars of 2014 with a 95-point rating, making it one of the most recognized cigars in the La Historia lineup.
If you enjoy this blend but prefer a shorter smoke, check out the E.P. Carrillo La Historia El Senador, the 5 3/8 x 52 Robusto.
Tasting Notes
Expect waves of dark chocolate, espresso, roasted nuts, and earth, with touches of leather, black pepper, and natural sweetness. The larger format gives these flavors plenty of room to develop, with a rich finish that makes this cigar worth taking your time with.
