Cigar Intel

The story behind the Perdomo Lot 23 starts with a plot of land in Nicaragua that became known simply as Lot 23. Perdomo planted the tobacco used for the binder and filler together on this farm, eventually building an entire cigar line around the tobacco grown there.

For the Maduro version, those Nicaraguan tobaccos are finished with a dark Nicaraguan Maduro wrapper. It gives the Lot 23 a richer profile while still letting the character of the tobacco underneath come through.

The 6 x 50 Toro is a classic size and a good fit for the blend. Expect plenty of the darker flavors you'd want from a Maduro, but with enough cedar, pepper, and earth to keep the cigar from becoming overly sweet.

Tasting Notes

Cocoa, coffee, and earth make up much of the profile, joined by cedar and pepper as the cigar develops. There's also some sweetness from the Maduro wrapper that helps balance the spice and darker flavors.

Who This Cigar Is For

If you like Maduro cigars with plenty of cocoa and coffee flavor but don't necessarily want something extremely heavy, the Lot 23 Maduro Toro is a good place to start. It's also worth a look for Perdomo smokers who want a darker alternative to some of the brand's smoother blends.
