Cigar Intel
The Perdomo 20th Anniversary line was created to celebrate two decades of Perdomo Cigars, and the Sun Grown version puts aged Nicaraguan tobacco front and center.
The cigar uses an 8-year-old Cuban-seed Nicaraguan Sun Grown wrapper that's bourbon barrel-aged for an additional 10 months. Underneath are higher-priming Cuban-seed Nicaraguan binder and filler tobaccos, making the 20th Anniversary Sun Grown a Nicaraguan puro from wrapper to filler.
That extra aging helps round out what is otherwise a richer, more spice-forward blend. At 6 x 56, the Epicure gives the cigar plenty of room to develop and sits on the fuller side of the Perdomo lineup.
If you're looking for something smoother from Perdomo, check out the Perdomo Reserve 10th Anniversary Champagne Robusto. For another rich Nicaraguan option with a darker profile, the Perdomo Lot 23 Maduro Toro goes more toward mocha, espresso, and sweetness.
Tasting Notes
Earth and spice lead the way, followed by oak, cedar, and some natural sweetness. The profile stays rich without being completely driven by strength, giving you a good mix of spice, wood, and the deeper flavors of the aged Nicaraguan tobacco.
Who This Cigar Is For
If you already enjoy Nicaraguan cigars and want something with more body and spice, the 20th Anniversary Sun Grown Epicure is an easy one to consider. It's also a good next step for Perdomo smokers who enjoy the Champagne line but want to move into something richer and fuller.
