Ascend from  E.P. Carrillo made its debut at the 2026 PCA trade show as the newest regular-production release from Casa Carrillo. Ernesto Perez-Carrillo designed the line around the idea of progression, with three different sizes representing stages of a climb: Saddle, Ridge, and Peak.

Sitting right in the middle is the 6 x 52 Ridge. According to Casa Carrillo, this is where the blend begins to open up, bringing more depth and noticeable transitions while keeping the balance of the original blend intact.

The cigar is made at the Casa Carrillo factory in Santiago, Dominican Republic, using an Ecuadorian Habano wrapper over an Estelí-grown Nicaraguan binder and Nicaraguan filler tobaccos. If you're already a fan of the Perez-Carrillo Series, Ascend gives you something new to explore without straying too far from what Ernesto Perez-Carrillo does best.

Tasting Notes

Expect a balanced, medium-bodied profile with notes of leather, coffee, earth, pepper, and warm spice. The Ridge was blended to develop as it burns, with the profile gradually gaining depth and complexity rather than hitting you with everything right out of the gate.
