Cigar Intel

The AJ Fernandez New World was the first cigar AJ Fernandez created with his father, Ismael. The name is a nod to the discovery of tobacco in the New World and its introduction to the rest of the world.

The original New World is also known as the New World Oscuro. It features a dark Nicaraguan wrapper over a Jalapa binder, with Nicaraguan filler tobaccos from Ometepe, Condega, and Estelí.

At 6.5 x 55, the Toro is a good size for getting the full experience of the New World blend. It's a box-pressed cigar with a medium-to-full-bodied profile and plenty of the darker flavors you would expect from an Oscuro.

Tasting Notes

The New World has a rich profile centered around earth, dark chocolate, and coffee, with pepper and spice adding some bite. A touch of sweetness helps balance out the darker flavors and keeps the profile from becoming too heavy.

Who This Cigar Is For

If you like richer Nicaraguan cigars with plenty of dark flavor, the New World Toro should be right in your wheelhouse. It's a good option for Maduro and Oscuro smokers or anyone looking to step into a fuller cigar without going overboard on strength.
